About Toluca Lake Tennis & Fitness Center
The Toluca Lake Tennis Club had its official opening in 1975 and was 'the place' to play tennis during the 70's and 80's where celebrities such as Johnny Carson, Farrah Fawcett, Clint Eastwood, and others frequently played due to its proximity to various movie and TV studios in the area. Expansion plans into larger facilities took shape in the early nineties and by 1999 a state of the art fitness center had been added with Group Exercise classes, pool, cardio room, weight room, and with the addition of private trainers.
Today the club continues to offer tennis and fitness memberships or combinations of both. The club was selected one of the 10 Best Gyms in L.A. by Los Angeles Magazine - February 2005. In the same year Citysearch named it in the top ten Best gyms in LA. Citysearch also gave it the Best of Citysearch Award for health clubs in Los Angeles - in 2006. The club received honorable mention as one of LA's best boutique gyms by Los Angeles Magazine in 2008. LA Magazine wrote, "Tucked behind Warner Bros. This facility, part of the Toluca Lake Tennis Club, has the look and feel of a country club, without the attitude."
